Our God does not leave us disadvantaged, alone, discouraged, without comfort, without a helper, without a counselor, teacher, or advocate!

The disciples were dismayed learning that Jesus was going away. The one they had followed, and did life with, who had taught them, and did miracles right before their eyes. What uncertainties would they face without Him by their side? Imagine how discouraged they must have been when He was crucified! Even so they waited in the upper room for the Holy Spirit as Jesus had instructed them.

Jesus in his body of flesh was only able to be at one place at a time. He hungered, thirsted, bleed, slept, cried, he was tempted- in essence he knew what it was to be human, and knew what we needed. Sending the Holy Spirit who helps bring us into the fullness that God has for us was to our advantage. God did not leave or forsake us- His Holy Spirit is like the wind and can be everywhere at one time, moving with a mighty force in one place, while gently caressing someone’s check to bring comfort somewhere else. As we cultivate our relationship with the Holy Spirit he will revive, restore, refresh, and refine us.

Dear Heavenly Father,

My ever-present help in time of need. I thank you for the gift of your Holy Spirit. The Spirit of truth who brings great clarity and power into every situation I face. I am never alone because you are with me therefore, I can conquer anything by your Spirit. I thank you for this blessing in Jesus’ name, Amen!

Having faith is having trust. You have to trust with your entire being that God through His Holy Spirit has your back that he will help you and take care of you. He knows what is best, but to truly embrace what he has planned for you, you have to fully trust.
