The Role You Play

Genesis 7:16 (NLT)
“A male and female of each kind entered, just as God had commanded Noah. Then the Lord closed the door behind them.”
Devotion
Through the story of Noah, we see God's protection from the great trouble that was around him and his family. God's heart ached by the wickedness that was occurring on the earth, so He instructed Noah to build a boat. This boat was to have specific measurements and a set number of animals in it firstly, to keep the bad from coming in and secondly, this was to keep the preservation of life after the earth was flooded.

We don’t have to look any further than the word of God to see how we can shepherd those in our care. God knew the danger but He also knew the promise and the victory in the end.

As parents, teachers, mentors, and disciples, we should be encouraged to follow the blueprint God has set before us. There is wickedness coming from all angles but we have the power to close the door. We should also keep our perspectives in alignment. This shouldn’t be a daunting task of what we can and can not do but rather the victory of why we are doing it. We all have a role to play and none is insignificant. So keep allowing the Holy Spirit to work through you as you continue this journey of protecting those you have been blessed to shepherd.

Today’s Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
You are worthy of all my praise and adoration, I worship You with thanksgiving. I humbly ask for You, Lord, to help me follow Noah’s example in staying aligned with Your will for my life. There must have been times Noah doubted that he heard You correctly, yet he remained faithful to Your call. The taunting and ridicule he endured must have made him feel like giving up, yet he remained faithful. Help me be so dedicated to You in every area of my life, as You lead me on to victory. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
