Still Chosen

“When his brothers saw that their father loved him more than any of them, they hated him and could not speak a kind word to him.”
Devotion
Joseph was deeply loved by his father and marked by God with dreams of greatness. But that favor didn’t exempt him from pain. In fact, it seemed to attract it. His brothers’ hatred wasn't because he did anything wrong, it was because of the undeniable mark of destiny on his life.
Many of us assume that walking in God’s purpose should bring instant peace and support. But like Joseph, those who are called, chosen, and appointed often face rejection, envy, and misunderstanding, sometimes from the people closest to them. Their opposition doesn’t mean you’ve lost favor with God. It simply confirms it.
God never promises a trial-free journey. He promises His presence, His purpose, and His perfect timing. Joseph’s path to the palace started with a pit. But that pit didn’t cancel his calling, it only positioned him for God's plan.
You may be in a season where others can't see what God sees in you. Their rejection doesn’t change God's selection. His hand is still on your life. Like Joseph, you're still chosen, regardless of who accepts or opposes you.
Today’s Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for calling and choosing me. Even when I face rejection, help me to stand firm in the knowledge that Your hand is upon my life. Strengthen my heart when opposition comes, and remind me that trials do not cancel Your calling. Like Joseph, may I remain faithful and confident in every season, trusting that You are working all things for my good. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Apply It Today
Think about a moment when you felt overlooked or rejected because of the call of God on your life. Reflect on how that experience prepared or strengthened you. Today, write down three promises from Scripture that affirm your identity in Christ. Let those truths silence the voice of opposition.
