Send In The Builders!
Monday, September 16
Zechariah 1:16 (NIV)
“Therefore this is what the LORD says: ‘I will return to Jerusalem with mercy, and there my house will be rebuilt. And the measuring line will be stretched out over Jerusalem,’ declares the LORD Almighty.”
Devotion
It is time for the enemy’s assignment to be canceled! The enemy comes to scatter, so as to divide, discourage, and oppress but God says that He will return with mercy and send in the builders. The enemy brings in his demolition crew to destroy the saints, to destroy faith, families, marriages, churches, our children, our schools, our nation, our government, our businesses, but God sends those who will build up. He commissions us to build up the body of Christ in Jude 1:20-21 “But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, praying in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life.”
In today’s scripture, the Lord declares His will that His towns will again overflow with prosperity and that He will again comfort Zion and choose Jerusalem. We are builders in the hands of the Lord to do His will in building up and bringing comfort. Builders restore, rebuild, and bring prosperity, whether that be physical or spiritually speaking. They are laborers that are intentional in the building process. Builders subdue that which is scattered and divided, pick up the pieces and build something new.
It is time for us to rebuild what is broken; to submit personal areas that are out of alignment to the Lord for Him to set His measuring line across and allow Him to build up. We must take up the tools that the Lord gives, and the instructions that the Holy Spirit brings, to take on the spirit of a carpenter and to lift up, encourage, and build up others around us.
Today’s Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
It is obvious that the enemy is at work today, more than ever, to divide, discourage, and oppress Your people. However, I know that Jesus came to give us a life of abundance; spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically, psychologically, and ministerially. I step out now and receive that abundance in all areas of my life as I submit fully to You. When I feel overwhelmed or drained, help me to remember that all I need to do is receive what Jesus already provided. I thank You for Your goodness in my life. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Apply It Today
According to 2 Corinthians 9:8, God is able to make all grace abound to you so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As God is faithful to you, remember to be faithful in serving Him in the harvest.
