Living in Unity

Monday, June 12

Psalm 133:1-3 (NKJV)
1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brethren to dwell together in unity!
2 It is like the precious oil upon the head,
Running down on the beard,
The beard of Aaron,
Running down on the edge of his garments.
3 It is like the dew of Hermon,
Descending upon the mountains of Zion;
For there the Lord commanded the blessing—
Life forevermore.
Devotion
Isn't it amazing when we see God's people coming together in unity? It's like a breath of fresh air that brings joy to our lives. In Psalm 133, the image of oil flowing down Aaron's beard and robe shows us that unity is a beautiful blessing that spreads its influence far and wide.
The image of the anointing oil flowing and covering every inch – from head to toe - symbolizes the abundant blessings that come when we stand together as one. It's not about looking the same or thinking exactly alike, but rather about embracing our shared purpose and love for God.
Unity is like the gentle dew that falls on Mount Zion. It brings refreshment and life to dry and weary souls. When we choose unity, the Lord is pleased, and He pours out His blessings upon us. In our unity, we experience the fullness of life that He intended for us.
Let's make it our mission to foster unity in our families, workplaces, our church, and community. It starts with setting aside our differences, humbling ourselves, and seeking understanding.
Today, let's be peacemakers and ambassadors of unity. Our unity shines a light on the love of Christ, drawing others to Him. When we stand together, we become a powerful testimony of God's transforming work in our lives.
Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of unity. Help us to prioritize love, respect, and understanding in our relationships. Teach us to set aside our differences and embrace the common ground we have in You. Pour out Your blessings as we strive to stand together and be a witness to Your love. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
