I Am Who God Says I Am

Hebrews 4:15-16 NKJV
For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Devotion
Because of today’s theme scripture, we can never honestly say that no one can relate to us and what we are going through. One of the devil’s greatest schemes is to make you feel alone in the battles and temptations you are facing, but Jesus came to this Earth to experience everything we experience. He is all-knowing, and He understands. He was 100% man and 100% God.

Temptation is not a sin, for Jesus who was without any sin, was tempted. However, Jesus shows us how to rise above the temptation that surrounds us by clinging to the Word of God and His goodness. As Jesus was continually tempted by the devil in the wilderness, He constantly quoted scripture and was able to overcome every temptation.

His power is shone through our weaknesses, and we will never face a temptation that we cannot conquer through the power of Jesus.

Today's Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank you for your mercy and your grace. You were tempted just as I am and yet you did not sin. You stand as my greatest cheerleader, cheering me on to success because if you could do it so can I.
I know I’m not alone, I know who I am. I’m more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen

Apply It Today
Think about the greatest temptations and struggles in your life. Read in the gospels about all the ways Jesus was tempted and how he clung to scripture and the Father in the midst of temptation. Memorize scripture, and cling to the truth found in the Word of God. Allow Christ’s power to shine in your weaknesses, and remind yourself that you are never alone.
