Holy Spirit Interruption
Acts 10:44 (NKJV)
“While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word.”
Devotion
At times, we find ourselves stuck in familiar routines, comfortable with doing things the same way. However, God often has different plans for us, guiding us to new directions. We must be attuned to the leading of the Holy Spirit, as He may prompt us to intervene in someone's life. Our focus shouldn't solely be on our own pursuits, as God might interrupt us unexpectedly.
Consider the story of David, whose life took an unexpected turn when he visited his brothers. Little did he know that God would use him to defeat Goliath (1 Samuel 17). David, as a shepherd boy, spent significant time in communion with God, remaining receptive to His will. Despite facing skepticism from his own family, David was prepared to do whatever God asked of him.
Even Jesus, during his earthly ministry, faced interruptions. Despite being mocked by many, he continued doing his Father's work. A notable instance was when a woman with a flow of blood interrupted him on his way to heal Jairus's daughter. Rather than dismissing her, Jesus took the time to acknowledge and bless her for her faith.
If both David and Jesus were willing to turn interruptions into divine interventions, so should we. Let's not obstruct God's plans with our agenda or excuses. This year, let's embrace a resounding 'yes' to God, being open to whatever He brings our way.
Today’s Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank You for never seeing me as an interruption, even when I come to You time after time with my fears or problems. Lord, give me the wisdom to turn what I consider interruptions into divine opportunities for Your glory. I know that Your wisdom comes from the consistent intimate moments I have with You throughout each day. Father, please forgive me for the times I have neglected my time with You. Help me to grow so close to You, that I know Your heart and receive Your vision for every situation. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Apply It Today
