His Love Endures Forever

Psalm 136:6-10 (NKJV)
“To Him who laid out the earth above the waters, For His mercy endures forever; To Him who made great lights, For His mercy endures forever— The sun to rule by day, For His mercy endures forever; The moon and stars to rule by night, For His mercy endures forever. To Him who struck Egypt in their firstborn, For His mercy endures forever;”of lords! For His mercy endures forever: To Him who alone does great wonders, For His mercy endures forever; To Him who by wisdom made the heavens, For His mercy endures forever;”
Devotion

Throughout this passage, David laments “His faithful love endures forever”. This passage was not written to be in the past but in the present. The placement of the earth and the making of these heavenly lights were in the past, but these all present a meaningful representation of who God was and is.

The exaltation of these works of God were not to be dismissed or taken lightly. These words of God’s love were spoken with feeling with each passing work of God.
How often do we speak words of exaltation over the works God has done in our lives? Not just the works of God giving us what we have asked for but also for the works we didn’t ask for nor did we want. David didn’t want to be hunted down by his accusers nor did he want to be filled with depression, worry, and anxiety but he combats these feelings with thankfulness and gratitude.

May these words “His faithful love endures forever” ring true in our daily walk with God. When He gives us what we ask for and when He doesn’t give us what we ask for. When He allows the toils and trials in our lives to perfect His will in our lives. Let us proclaim “His faithful love endures forever”!

Today's Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your faithful love that endures forever. In every season, whether filled with joy or trial, help me to see Your hand at work and to trust in Your enduring mercy. Teach me to praise You not only for the blessings I desire but also for the things I do not understand. May my heart be anchored in gratitude, and may my lips continually declare Your faithfulness. Even when I walk through valleys, let my soul remember: Your love has never failed and never will. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Apply It Today

Today instead of resentment, choose gratitude. Write down at least one way God revealed His enduring love to you through that circumstance, and declare out loud: “His faithful love endures forever.” Let this be your declaration in every season.
