Psalm 91:11-12 (NIV)
“For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.”
Devotion
Life often feels unpredictable, filled with dangers we can’t always foresee. Yet Psalm 91 reminds us that God does not leave us vulnerable. He commands His angels to guard us, protecting us even in the moments when we aren’t aware of His intervention. This is not a promise that we will never face hardship, but it is an assurance that God’s hand will be over us, guiding, shielding, and ultimately leading us to His good plans.
As a little boy, Saroo was separated from his family in India and ended up thousands of miles away from home. By human standards, his situation seemed hopeless. Yet, looking back, it’s evident that God’s unseen hand was with him, protecting him in a foreign land, placing him in the care of people who ensured his survival, and eventually leading him to a family who loved him. Even more, God orchestrated his journey so that decades later, Saroo was reunited with his birth family. His story ended in restoration, a testament to God’s protective and redemptive power at work even when the path seemed broken.
In our lives, too, God’s protection often shows up in ways we may only understand in hindsight. We may not always see the angels He sends or recognize the doors He opens and closes, but His promise remains true: He is guarding us in all our ways.
Today's Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your constant protection over my life. Even when I don’t see it, I trust that You are guarding me and ordering my steps. Help me rest in Your promise that You will never leave me unprotected. Thank You for watching over me with a love that never fails. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
