Eternal life does not simply mean living forever on the earth, eternal life is living forever with God in Heaven. God loves each one of us so much that He gave Jesus, His only Son, as a sacrifice to pay for our sins. Through this act of love, we have been made holy (Hebrews 10:10), we have gained direct access to God the Father (Hebrews 10:19), and have been given the ability to spend eternity with Him.

While we wait for eternity in Heaven, we can know God now, be in a deep relationship with Him, and dwell in His presence. So come near to God, grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus (2 Peter 3:18), put faith into action, and tell others about the great love God has for us – that He gave His one and only Son so that we could have eternal life! 

Dear Heavenly Father,

I thank You for the sacrifice of Jesus which opened the way and made the new birth possible. If I am stuck short of this miracle, I pray that You would show me and help me to get unstuck and make me a new creation. Make me fruitful in Jesus, I pray. Give me the gift of prophecy so that I may be more and more effective in evangelism. Show me where my friends and family are stuck in their journey to Jesus. By Your Holy Spirit, give me the right Scripture at the right time to cut through the cobwebs and confusion and bring faith and conviction so that Your Word accomplishes your purposes in the heart of my hearers. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen
