Choose Righteousness Over Evil

Saturday, November 16

Matthew 12:43-45 (NKJV)
““When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.”
Devotion

As a nation, we are at a critical point now. We are at a crossroads and need to make a decision. It's time to turn around and repent of our sins and this nation's sins. It is not time to sit back and relax. God had given us a reprieve; a chance to make a difference. We cannot afford to do nothing when evil is running rampant. We must ask His forgiveness just like Israel did in the book of Nehemiah. This nation's future generations have been used for evil purposes. Good is thought as evil and evil good. It's time to get back to the Bible and to church, prayer, fasting, and repentance.

Time is short and we need to make the kingdom of God our first priority. We are going down the same path as Israel did. There is rampant violence, pornography, child molestation, abuse, trafficking and sexual surgeries on young kids. Just like Rome was destroyed from within so we will be if we don't act. Stand up against and speak out. If we don't, thousands of children and young people will be destroyed. Our biggest enemies are not humans but evil spirits or demons. And their leader is the devil himself. Jesus told us that the devil's objective was to steal, kill and destroy. According to Proverbs 14:34, ”Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to any people.” Children and young people are precious in God's sight. They are not merchandise to be bought, sold or abused. It's time to take our marching orders and go and fight this battle and save our country!

In Psalm 127:3-5a, it says that, “Children are a heritage from the Lord. Offspring a reward from Him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.” And Jesus said in Matthew 18:6, “But whoever offends one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.” It is our responsibility to go and warn people about what will happen and bring them to the Lord. It is our responsibility to protect our youngest citizens of this country. We need to save the next generations before it's too late. A Republican president, House and Senate will not be able to save this country. It is up to us to stand up and be counted!

Today’s Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the privilege of serving Your Great Commission to make disciples in my hometown, my home county, and my home state. Let me not presume to be called to greater things or to take up a larger calling before I am prepared. Father, show me how to fulfill the calling for which I am ready, and how to sanctify myself and get myself ready for future tasks You have for me. Let me be faithful in a little. Let me be disciplined in growing in Jesus, using Your Word constantly to learn to distinguish good from evil. Keep me free from the sins to which I am calling others to repentance, so that I am not found a hypocrite. Let me be first to call upon the Name of Jesus as I shout his Name (literally and figuratively) in the streets for others to follow. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Apply It Today

We have become callous to some of our nation’s grievous sins, while other sins still seem abhorrent. So our personal comfort level may be an unreliable gauge. The priorities defined by society may not be God’s priorities. As you consider issues and talk with others, learn and rely on what God has to say in His word. Be prepared to represent God’s perspective as much as possible through reading the Bible and prayer like today’s example.
