Before The War

Revelation 17:14 (NIV)
“They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.”
Devotion
John shares the amazing vision he received regarding the final battle of the tribulation in which Christ triumphs over all the evil in the world. As believers we know this vision is moving forward, each day we are one day closer to this final battle. Yet, while we await this final battle, it’s important for us to know our work is not done. John’s vision shows Jesus’ called, chosen, and faithful followers with him. If you have committed your life to Christ and follow him, that includes you. But does that include everyone you are in relationship with, or everything in your sphere of influence? For most of us, that answer is no, which means before the war there is work to do! We must be bold and brave in proclaiming the gospel and telling others about Jesus – our victorious Lord and King.
Today’s Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
I come humbly before You and ask that You make me a warrior fit for battle against this dark world. Help me to stand firm on Biblical morals and values and openly express them through both my actions and my words. May I never fail to reach a lost soul for the Your Kingdom when it is within my power to do so. I ask that You give me wisdom and boldness, so that I may be a warrior fighting on behalf of Christ. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Apply It Today
Too many Christians in today’s world stay silent on moral issues for fear of being labeled intolerable, a bigot, or a host of other names the enemy uses to silence us. We must realize that speaking the truth of the Word is not synonymous with hate or intolerance. In fact, Galatians 6:1-2 states, “Brothers, if anyone is caught in any sin, you who are spiritual and are responsive to the guidance of the Holy Spirit are to restore such a person in a spirit of meekness. Carry one another’s burdens and in this way, you will fulfill the requirements of Christ’s love.” Let us not stand by and watch the world go to hell, rather let us reach out to them in love and lead them to Christ with the truth of His word.
