Jesus did not want His disciples to feel as though they had been abandoned after His death and ultimate ascension. He wanted them to know that He would be with them, and us, even in greater measure. He goes on to say in verse 20 of our main text, “When I am raised to life again you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you.”

He sent His Holy Spirit to live in us. Once we receive the amazing gift of Him dwelling within us, He will guide and direct our every step, every moment of our lives, IF we follow His guidance. Certainly, we have all missed His leading at times, but we cannot allow that to hinder our walk with Him now. We must repent of past wrong choices and choose to rise above them and listen to His voice, now and in the future, in every situation. As He dwells in us, let’s choose to dwell in Him, thereby becoming one with Him.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank you for Your precious gift of the Holy Spirit who is my constant guide and support in every area of life. Please grant me the wisdom to sense His guidance and give me the boldness and strength to follow His instructions, even when it is not easy or popular. Draw me closer to You each day, Lord, that I may represent You to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
