Ask For God’s Word To Flow Through You

Tuesday, January 30

Isaiah 55:8-10 (NKJV)
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater,”
Devotion

God's living water can flow through us, but it is not automatic if we remain in our flesh and trust our own thoughts and ways. God's thoughts flow through us as living water both through Scripture and through the gift of prophecy, which is often displayed as having the right Scripture at the right time. However, we are in an ongoing battle with our flesh, which includes our minds. Our minds need to be constantly renewed, washed, and refreshed through the Holy Spirit and God's word.

As we eagerly desire the greater gifts (1 Corinthians 12:31), we ask and keep on asking for the gift of prophecy which will accomplish God's purpose. In contrast, if we get it wrong and speak our own thoughts in place of God's thoughts, our words will not accomplish God's purpose. Let us ask and keep on asking for God to accomplish His purpose through us.

Today’s Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank You that Your ways and thoughts are greater than mine. Your Word says that if we lack wisdom, we should ask, and You will be faithful to give it to us. So, I ask that You fill me with Your wisdom and help me teach Your Word, being ready to prophesy Your truth in season and out of season, even when it is unexpected or inconvenient. Place upon my lips Your words that reprove, rebuke, and exhort with love and patience. I want to be Your mouthpiece, leading others to You from where they are at any given moment. Use me, Lord, letting Your Word flow through me to others. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
